Sticky trottle

Hi All

I have an odd problem with the throttle. When I release the grip it takes a few seconds or more to drop back to idle. First I thought it might be a dirty grip or cable so I cleaned and lubed it all but that didn't solve the problem. Once the engine warms up it is better but still "sticky" sometimes.

After doing some research I came to the conclusion that it could be a dirty throttle body.

What do you guys think? I'd like some expert advise before take it apart

Thanks

Before you take anything apart, check that the cables are correctly adjusted with little or no slack, especially the return cable (also make sure it is correctly located in the throttle cam as they sometimes get dislodged.)

Are you sure the inner(s) are not starting to fray? If they are, no amount of lube will cure the problem.

The cables feel fine and slide freely when I disconnect them from the throttle grip and the disc on the throttle body (sorry, don't know what it's called)

Also, when I release the throttle, the disk on the throttle body turns back to idle position but the engine still revs

Vacuum/air leaks? Throttle to head rubber perished?

What's the TPS reading Diagnostic mode?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them and report back in a few days
