First decent ride

Took my new xt660x out today for its first decent run (180 miles) as the weather was good for the first time this year, think every man and his dog was out on there bikes today. Must say I really do love this little bike. Not the fastest but bags of fun. And comfortable to. And sounds like thunder. I know my fz1n is so much better. But the xt just puts a smile on my face. And that's what biking is about. Just love the thing.

Yep you know it mate. I went from my cbr 954 to the fz1n I have added all the right bits to the fz1 Steering damper was a must new rear shock, as old one is a bit spongy . Having 150bhp on an upright bike is fun but mad. Without the damper the front used to wobble over 100mph but with it 160mph and it was still spot on an planted Best up right bike I have had just love it. I had the 2008 z1000 last year look nice but handling is crap when really giving it some. I built a custom bandit 2or 3 years ago that was fun. Got that into street fighter mag. Running out of space for bikes at the moment. Got gsxr750, sherco 290 ,fz1n and the xt660x. Something about the xt that just wants to make me go off exploring all the back roads over the moors. It's nice to have a bit of fun without going 100+. But one thing I will say if you get a chance to get an fz1n get one .just don't buy the 2006 as they had bad fuelling problems and it was bad, I bought one and got rid after 2 months as it was bloody dangerous. They fixed it after 2007. So I bought a 2009. Can not praise it enough. It's an absolute animal over 7rpm. Back to the xt going out tomorrow as weather is good ,going to try do 200 miles over the moors. Was well happy when bike only took 7.50 of fuel for 100 miles. Going to put the Tomtom sat nav on to make sure I have fitted all the leads right. So where ever I end up I can get back lol
