Bike died today.

Was out and drove a round today when the bike suddenly died and the engine light came on. Looked a bit for loose wires or leaks but could not see anything. What could have happened? Waited a few minutes then started the bike again and the engine light was not showing. Then it died again after a few seconds. Waited again and started then I could drive the 10 miles home without the enginelight on. Have just installed kevs fuel mod and O2 controller but it'll surely not have affected anything? It ran great before it stalled.
Anyone?

Maybe its something wrong with the o2 controller cause when I dissconcted it the bike worked again and when I connected it again the same problem occurred?

Now I know what the problem is. Its the tilt sensor. I went into diag mode and it seems to be ok now. But whats the chance that this would happen again. Should the sensor be replaced or something?

If you know the bike hasn't gone over and the tilt sensor has tripped then it may well be faulty. I'd see how you go, and if it happens again, look into getting a replacement.

As mentioned in the emails directly to me, check the tilt sensor connector for corrosion, if it is free of corrosion I would personally replace the tilt sensor as we have seen a few go over the years.

Looking in the dash the voltage in zone 08 must be 0.6Volts when the tilt sensor is working correctly.

If the voltage shows 3,9 is it the sensor that is broken or could it be something else? I've cleaned the connectors and they look fine.
Btw, is the sensor expensive?

What I dont get is why it wont reset? The engine light and the error code is still showing. I mean if you would have fallen with the bike so surely you must be able to reset it when you pick it up again?

To reset if you have just fallen off it. Turn off the ignition completely and then turn back on and it should reset itself. (from experience):icon_rolleyes:
