I'd ride it for about half and hour easy then at normal riding thereafter....Throw in an oil change later to pick up any swarf and enjoy

(I remember the handbook of my XR400 stated ride easy for 25kms then normally)

For my 2 strokes I ride them easy until warm and then as normal thereafter..never had any problems.

(Same idea as buying a new chainsaw..you're obliged to use it once new and warm at full revs)

Just my opinion over 40yrs of riding with no problems.....you'll no doubt find differing opinions on this subject.

As above pretty much. The key is riding normally so as the motor (particularly the piston/bore beds in both accelerating and decelerating, on the power/off the power. Too gentle and it won't bed in, too aggressive and you prematurely wear things out. What you must avoid though is slogging it in a high gear low down and conversely allowing it to run at sustained high revs, or revving it excessively with no load. If I recall the manual states max 4500rpm for the first 600 miles. You can go beyond that for brief periods, but never for long and never under full throttle/load.
