Getting there!

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...ps56sobj7z.jpg Couldn't put up with my spokes and rims anymore...but also couldn't afford new rims/hubs etc.

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psrlmp7vgx.jpg Felt a bit 'wrong ' to be doing this to my relatively new wheels!, next stop the powder coaters.

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...pslkzygdhc.jpg Took wheels to Vulcan powder coating in Angmering...a commercial business but with a dedicated motorcycle section , super helpful people to deal with.

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psinnfmjap.jpg Next up to Hagon wheels ....they were recommended to me and they offer an express service for a reasonable charge. There are wheelbuilders local to me but it's a 4-5 week turnaround....too long to be off the road. Hagon were great to deal with..really patient and friendly. They built the wheels up straight away , then left them for 24hrs before rechecking and tightening them.

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...pslotlh7yv.jpg Hopefully the Gold wheels will look good with the blue of my Tenere . And nice shiny stainless steel spokes..nickel plated nipped. The gold wheels are also a nod to the Ten's heritage I feel. Day off tomorrow so will be fettling all day! Steve

looking good mate

abigsupermoto 05-03-16 09:53

Nice those Steve, I was thinking of gold ones for mine in the future when I get the spokes changed to stainless

Pleiades 05-03-16 11:14

Good stuff Steve!

What you will notice (when you fit them) is that the Tenere looks about 20-30Kg lighter with silver or gold rims instead of the stock black. Which in turn should give you the psychological effect of at least another 10hp and greatlyimproved handing as well! ;)

jo75 05-03-16 21:37

Steve, they look blooming gorgeous!!..wonder if I should get mine done gold or red???...I flippin love them!!..

greatescape 05-03-16 21:41

Thanks guys...and Jo....hmm mm Red could work....but gold is classic Tenere!. Steve

jo75 05-03-16 21:52

Yeah I know your right!..red might look too tacky think I might have to go gold!..or steal yours!..
