Cederburg Overnight

First outing with the XTZ.. Normally something will go wrong - well it did when I owned a BMW, but these Yamahas are just built for these conditions and smooth sailing all the way.

Surface: Loose(very) gravel, firm gravel, soft sand, rocky bits, steep climbs..
Bike loaded and topped out at about 300kg with fuel. Handling was a bit twitchy on the loose gravel but behaved nicely in the soft sand. I was amazed.. fuel consumption excellent too.

Only two pictures to share as the file size limitations on here are ridiculous. My thumbnails exceed the 190KB limit and I don't have the time to resize to fit this odd limitation.

The Cederburg is in the Western Cape, South Africa. 90 mins from Cape Town. Semi desert, arid but clear, clear skiies..

Nice.

Why do you have a problem with posting pictures?
I can post them as large as I like and it works
Cederberg Oasis is a great overnight stop - have you been there
In love with the area

OK Now I know where all of our sunshine has gone!:laughing7:

Nice shots too! Oasis is where I stayed. Gerrit is a legend... it was full but I camped on the lawns.
I just use Google Pics now and post links. Easier. The forum was rejecting anything over 193KB in size which in this day and age is a bit "short sighted"

I shoot with a Garmin Virb helmet mount action cam which can take stills whilst shooting video. I set it to 30s auto timer and stick it on repeat and I get hundreds of images!
Would be happy to ride along on one of your outings some day - just hope I can keep up!

Lovely in the Sederberg. Try riding Wuppertal round the back to Ceres. Lovely river crossing. Damn I miss it.
