http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psopy4g8lk.jpg Well...I have to admit I found the property of removing , stripping and greasing the swing arm and linkage a bit daunting , but with Ohlins excellent guide and Jo75 helping ( by helping I mean talking me through the whole process!) I set to

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psupajnkx8.jpg Confirmation it's worth doing even on a fairly new bike....absolutely sod all grease on these bearings. On a one year old bike. Going to be great to know it's all greased up properly

Good on ya Steve, great feeling of satisfaction and knowing it's been done, makes it all worth while

Keep up the good work mate your bike will thank you for it in the end. It does make it easier though when the bike fairly new as there isn't as many stubborn nuts & bolts to contend with.
I found my steering head bearings void of grease stripping them down shortly after picking up the bike in the early days as mentioned on this site before. A headset spanner with the hook on the end helped with the slotted collar there rather than bashing it with a flat blade screwdriver & hammer to loosen & tighten it again.:066: (would also be a good time to slip in a Ohlins shock to match the wheels, the missus will never notice but if she does you just had it sprayed at the same time of course !!) |
All coming together nicely Steve, we will have her back together in no time!..
