Adjusted the controller to 5 and it's is spot on now. Only thing I have had is 2 times now bike just cut out once at about 40 mph for no reason pulled in clutch to change gear and that was it. Have Heard about this on these. Will have to ask kev on the fix.

Not sure on that, sure Kev will be able to shed some light on it

Nice looking bike englishbandit! I have to start with the mods too some day.

Which hand guards are these by the way? They look good.

Could not agree more, it's just fun. My fz1 is for speed and ripping it up.But the xt is just to go out and have some fun without killing myself. I put the sat nav on it. And just go and get lost on the back roads then put home in on the sat nav. Top,fun. But I must say I did a 180 mile ride the other day on the back roads. God I slept well lol. You know you have done the miles on an xt over a bigger bike. Really looking forward to my 5 day trip around the high lands of Scotland in May. Should do about 250 to 300 miles a day. I know it's not a lot of miles to the proper tourers. But think it will be hard enough on an xt660x. Going to do apple cross pass as well, ( see YouTube clip of it) looks like it should be a good ride.

Hi
The hand guards are Acerbis . But to be honest I bought some other ones off eBay in black. From china and they are the same and at a quarter of the price. And they really are the same. The Chinese ones cost 20 delivered and can chose the colour you want. If you want the link just let me know. I also have had the belly pan powder coated in black and have filled the hole will grill mess looks good. Will add new photo today

Hi please share some of your Highlands secrets. I'm doing it with my brother first 2 weeks in June. Especially best roads and camp sites.

Hi
We will just miss each other. I am last week in May. We stay on lockness near the doors pub. Just by the Loch Ness monster hunters cabin .that's on the lock. The ride around the loch is really nice. Then on to the isle of skye that's a day in its self. Apple cross pass is a must from what I a told so will be doing that myself for the first time. But to be honest from lockness in any direction is really good. But the ride from lockness to the isle of Skye is a really good ride. I do not know any camp sites as we set off from the b&b we stay at on the lock. Go off and do 300 miles or so and end up back at the b&b. It's not to bad on price 95 a night for two of us. But it is top class. Wifi ,sat TV ,top breakfast. And your bedroom doors open on to the lock. Or you have to potty house b&b again really really nice. And only a 2min walk to the doors pub for you food at night.. I have never been in May.i go every year in December as there is no one there. The snow is down most of the time and it's just stunning. The stags come down, so you get to see them.
