New to the Blue in NZ

Hi, It's been a few years since I rode thumpers, a DRBig750 was my last one, Airhead twins are my normal mode of transport. But wanted to have something a bit lighter and like the look of the Tenere so when a crashed 2013 XTZ660 came up for auction, figured I had to give it a go. Nothing like having a project to think about.

I've got a complete 46mm YZ250 USD front end to graft onto the bent front end of the Tenere, so looking forward to that. The rest of it will need a bit of searching for replacement parts etc, so if anyone knows where to source parts close to New Zealand, I'm all ears.

I'm still waiting for it to get delivered from Chch, so haven't been able to make a full assessment of what will be needed to get it road worthy yet.... But might as well start learning what I've potentially got and so far I'm looking forward to riding it.

:006: Welcome on board mate.

Looks like an interesting project you've got there. You'll have to start a dedicated thread and keep us updated with the progress.

Another XT on the trails...looks like yer got a bit
of work ahead of yer... got a complete XTR front end
don't think any bits would be of much use on a XTZ..
If the YZ front end becomes a hassel to fit.. CR250
front end is a top bearing swap then it bolts straight in..

Hello mate

Welcome, and good luck with your project, great to see it being put back on the road and not turned into a pile of spares

Cheers. They look like too good a bike to see stripped to nothing.
