Hello from New Zealand.

Hi there my names henry and I am a recent owner of a 2005 xt660x with only 24000km on the clock.

I decided on the XT being that I have been racing motocross for 20 years and after smashing my foot up pretty bad 4 months ago I needed to ease back into riding so I thought a supermoto / adventure bike would be ideal after riding a 2015 yzf450 for the past 2 years :)

I am a fitter Turner Engineer so I already have lots of ideas on what to do with my XT starting with some wheel conversions for adventure riding. So far my bike has Leo Vince pipes with some kind of fuel mod that looks pretty roughly done by the previous owner but still the bike runs great :). I look forward to expanding my knowledge about the bike on these forums.

Welcome mate. With only 2400k's on the clock that bikes practically new. Nice find.

I am aware of this but i dont want to swap a whole front end when i want to go adventure riding. Been talking to some people about lacing a 21inch rim to a XTX hub so i can still use the same brake caliper and forks etc.

Whats the cush drive like in the rear for offroad riding? Mainly sand and gravel roads.
