The A686 road between Penrith & Hartside has been washed away at Langwathby Bridge too.

And you can't get over Kirkstone Pass from the North, the road isn't there. **EDIT** - They've cleared most of the problems, now passable with extreme care

And,,, the A591 between Keswick & Grassmere has gone in places. Washed away in the rain.

It's pretty dire up here - but at least most got out alive.


Having said that, the Lakes is still open and you'll all be welcome - you just might not be able to go where you want to go.

My heart goes out to our great friendly folk from the lakes me and the wife spend a lot of time at the beautifull Lake District we are gutted it's the beauty of England
