Co pilot app
Does anyone else here use co pilot?
I used to use waze but have just tried this and it seems to have some decent features Just wondering whether it's worth spending out to upgrade it |
Hi there, been using copliot for a few years now and love it.
Beware, because I have seen reviews of the free app that aren't so good. Also, if you intend travelling in europe on bike then it doesn't use data, so my advice is buy the paid version. You MUST have a sense of direction though (I don't know if this applies to all sat navs) because, rarely, it'll lose the plot. I was travelling to czech rep. germany and poland recently, and in czech rep. it told me to go down a road to Prague, and it was a country road single carriageway, and we had just passed a sign on the motorway saying Prague, so not trusting it, I turned back a significant distance and took said turning. It turned out that copilot was right all along and the route I took was a local road to Prague (there motorwats are signed in green, not blue) On my return through Germany, I was on the motorway and it told me to come off, and I ended up on a side road FOR NO APPARENT reason. Also it has been said they don't update the maps too often, and I have been shown to be in the middle of nowhere when in fact I was on a motorway that was newly rerouted, I guess that can happen for any satnav. When it really counted though, ie finding a hotel or petrol station in the middle of the night somewhere in europe, it worked. Like I said, a sense of direction helps |
Hi Paul,
I have been using Co-Pilot for some years now I can say that is is the next best thing to perfect. I have travelled remote places in Australia and Europe and is really good. However as mentioned I had had few faults, like telling you to take the wrong turn. Nevertheless in 98% of the cases is very good. IMHO it is better than Garmin and very user friendly. Great POI database. The only "real" problem I had was in Skopie, Macedonia as the guys there seem to change the street names too often :D but this would be a problem for every navigating tool, apart of topo probably.... Ah, and take the paid version. The free one has a trial period (with as far as I remember all features included) so before a trip you can download it and see if you like it. Regards |
