Rear tyre change XTR
Ok I'm getting good at changing my front tyres myself and have a upcoming change to do on the rear, but I have some questions relating to the safety bead on the rear.
on the front you a break the bead on both sides nice and easy with only your hands, but with the safety bead on the rear are you still looking to break both sides at the beginning? it looks like once the bead is popped both sides should be sitting in the dish. which seems a little crowded for trying the get leavers in, or do you just pop one bead do that side then pop the other? I'll be removing a e07 to fit a e09 both very stiff. |
You'll need to get both beads down into the central well of the wheel. I've always found lifting the bead slightly with the lever and pushing it over the hump in one motion works quite well, rather than just using brute force.

Cheers for that

The E07 came off piece of p??s and didn't feel to bad, but I will find out eventually when the time for replacement comes round again.

Fitting your own tyres
I gave up loooong ago...
Even with all the levers and tools it's bloody hard work.. Pay the $40 to get it done :-) |
