Your tyre pressures are low.
Every bike I've bought in the last few years seems to suffer from it, including the XT660x I bought at the weekend.

I went 500yds down the road and back and it didn't want to turn in very well and seemed to wallow, but I could instantly tell the tyre pressures were down. A quick check showed 23psi front and 25psi rear.
I pumped them up and all was well again.

A lot of owners don't even think about pressures, and then complain their bikes don't handle very well.
