Salisbury Plain ride day..Sat 8th August.
Sorry for the short notice but myself,Jac and Mark are having a day out on the Plain.
We will be using the all weather type tracks,so suitable to dual sport type tyres, but if dry,we might ride some of the grass byways if anyone fancies it. The plan is to have a days riding, starting from "Choppers cafe" just south of Burbage....at about 9.00ish. http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=422...0033&A=Y&Z=120 The pace will be gentle with plenty food/fuel/photo/talk B/S stops. Room for three more XT's Cheers Andy. |
The starting point just south of burbage at 9ish

By the way, I live about an hour east of the starting point. Anyone wanting to camp in my back garden Saturday evening would be welcome (i.e. riders coming from the london side. I can probably help 2 if need be. I live just south of Newbury with easy access to N34 and M4 junction 13.

Thanks Andy and Mark for a great hot and dusty day. I forgot how much fun the dirt can be. Heck the Tenere is so made for those gravel roads.

Mark pointing out tanks. Once again he attracted the wildlife with a deer running in front of him, too close for comfort.

Surprise after surprise, the deer and weasel-squirrel was amazing, if only I could have photographed that, and the flock of birds at the bottom of the hill when Andy spooked them. Lovely day out.
