new in from Wales

just wanted to say hello n that to you guys, i've just become the owner of an XTZ 660 tenere (hope this bike is allowed on here) it was a barn find but complete, (apart from number plate) and in reasonable condition....

i will be asking many, many, questions about how to refurb/recommision her and hopefully buying some bits n bobs off the forum members that have a few spares or asking for pointers on where to locate certain items

TIA, welshy

Yours was first launched in 1991 believe it was replaced in 1995 by a later model as you can see the full specs on this page

Any XT Tenere owners are more than welcome here, that's for sure, the only problem is very very rarely we get someone owning these bikes here and parts or mods for these bikes, are very seldom discussed in this forum, sorry.

Great looking bike none the less.

Welcome to the forum. ...you could restore it as original or give it the 'Dakar' look! Steve

:006: Welcome on board mate.

I used to have one of those (although a slightly later twin headlight 3YF) many moons ago.

Whilst everyone and anyone is welcome here, as has already been mentioned, we're more about the 4-valve fuel injected 2004 on 660s. It may be worth your while taking a look at www.tenere.co.uk where you'll find plenty of folk with the 5-valvers.
