Commuter from Botswana

Good evening to all. Joined XT660.com a while ago but first time participation. Live in Botswana. Own & ride a 2007 XT660R as daily commuter in Gaborone. Hope to spend more time here. Have a stalling problem on the bike. Anybody with help?

:006: Welcome on board mate.

You've got to be the first, and only, member from Botswana! :smilies0346:

Another thing you could try (re: the stalling) is make sure your idle speed is up in the 1400-1500rpm. Anything less can cause stalling when the clutch is pulled on decelleration.

Hey Commuter, Great part of the world to have an XT. I lived in Zim for a year or so before marrying a girl from Chegutu. There are some truly amazing places to explore in the southern parts of the African Continent. Just have to watch out for the local buses crabbing & taking up most of the road from being rolled a few times ! Have fun.

Not only busses. Cows, donkeys, goats and taxi's as well but born & bred in Africa so used to it. Heat is sometimes killing me specially when temp in shade is 45deg Celsius and wearing Jag jacket for protection against road rash. Enjoy the bike very much. Using it to commute everyday from home to office (including dirt roads) and between office and clients. Most efficient transport in the city with regular power cuts and therefore no traffic lights, etc.

Thanks Pleiades. Will check. Bit of a problem as this bike did not come with a rev counter and can't find suitable after market add-on.

Thanks for the welcome CaptMoto. Will check your suggestions.
