Front Sprocket

Guys... can anyone tell me what size the big NUT is that holds on the front sprocket.....

also has anyone useda 14 tooth ??? an can they tell me the difference to a 15tooth....does the 14 give ye more lifting power, ie, make it easier tae lift the front wheel....???

also is the nut hard to get off, or will it need to be by air socket.....Thanks....Mabozzar

It's 32mm and its hard to get it off ,but with right approach you can do it just by yourself. I've used it for a few months, bike is about 7% slower, accelerates faster, it should be easier to lift the front with it, 1st is too short for anything, theres obvious lack of 6th gear, back tire wears off too fast :laughing7:

I put the bike on paddock stand, sit on it, press rear brake lever with your right leg as hard as you can, while pulling the nut counterclockwise with very very long wrench,it's not a bad idea to apply some wd40 or something similar to the nut to get it off easier.

Just tried your tecnique but the brake wasnt strong enough to stop the wheel moving so I wedged my socket extension in one of the large holes on the new Renthal rear sprocket against the swing arm to lock the wheel and it worked! I thought I was gonna snap the torque wrench mind you but it did the trick. Now all I need is a chain tool of some sort.........:tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3:
Ps dont try this unless you have at least a 50cm wrench....

The best way to undo the front sprocketnut is with an air impact wrench(rattle gun) :icon_wink:
