Howerya from Dublin!

Hi

Got a secondhand 08 XT660X with only 700mls on the clock!

I have to say, I am really enjoying this bike. I've owned a CB500, Superfour, KLE500, F650, GT650R, Bandit 650, RSV1000 and a Tuono. I still have the RSV1000 in the shed, but I reckon I'm going to put her up for sale because I'm enjoying the Yamaha so much. I'm so impressed with this bike I'm wondering if I'll ever want to ride anything else!

I look forward to wrecking your heads with lots of dumb newbie questions.

Cheers
Tom

Ah that's what this place needs, more jackeens... Lol - welcome along, I can't believe you got such a low mileage bike! Start doing a bit of tuning and you'll be properly impressed with it.

I've changed the CO2 setting, and was planning on doing the throttle mod tomorrow. What would you suggest after that?

TBH I'm quite happy with the power, and the suspension is fine. Only thing that annoys me about the bike is the snatchiness at the low end, most of which has been cured, and I was hoping the throttle mod would sort the rest out.

Cheers

It may well just do that! ;)

Otherwise, read through this thread (if you haven't already). It covers all the "free-to-do" stuff you can do to minimise surging and smooth out your ride.

Thanks a mil for that. I hadn't seen that thread. Off to mod/destroy my throttle now. Wish me luck.

Get a set of fork spring spacers fitted and change the fork oil to 15w for a much improved front end.
