5 Days in North West NSW

Just spent 5 days riding with a group of friends in North West NSW

Typical Autumn weather, with blue skies, warm days and perfect riding conditions.

Did around 2000K's, the majority on little used dirt roads, where you can ride all day, without seeing another soul.

Some fabulous scenery to admire

The Tenere is right at home on dirt and sand and simply loves water, particularly stream crossings.

Inland NSW is magnificent at this time of year.

Looks like you went up Mt Kaputar! Nearly in my back yard.

Hi Seahorse, great scenery. ...perfect Tenere country! Do you carry extra fuel or is that big Tenere tank enough.? Steve

Looks like you had a great time. I must get down that way sometime. I'm also keen to have a look through Victora as well. :blob1:

Will be up that way again, some time in September...

Sounds good. You can PM me before you come out this way next time. There's a few "good ol boys" who have a pretty fair local knowledge of this region, who are always keen for a ride :icon_biggrin:

The ride started at Cessnock in the Hunter Valley.

Day One took us to Baradine via Binnaway

Day Two was through The Pilliga Forest to Burren Junction. (Do not attempt to ride this area unless you are confident riding deep sand at high speed.)

Day Three took us through cotton farming country to Narrabri where we explored Waa Gorge, Sawn Rock and Mount Kapatar on the way

Day Four Narrabri to Nundle

Day Five Nundle to home

The majority of the ride was on dirt. Started out with six riders of which one retired hurt (sand) and another short cutted home. There were two KTM 990's, a Honda Dominator, a DR650, a BMW1200 GSA and my Tenere. The Tenere acquitted itself well and easily matched it with the bigger bikes. The Beemer struggled badly in the sand resulting in a badly beat up rider.
