fuel tank removal?

Evening Guys,

I fitted a PC the other day and had a bit of hassle trying to get the fuel tank off.

the problem for me was getting the fuel hose coupling to come off, ok there isn't much space under there to bein with and i didn't want to force it as the plastic pipe from the tank looks a little fragile for my liking.

I slid the gate across and depressed the 2 blue tabs, and it was a sod to move, now either i wasn't able to grip the tabs enough to release them properly or i was doing something wrong. can anyone help?

they are a#@%# to remove...
I take it off the injector body end...
use 2 flat blade screw divers to push the blue clips
down while pushing the connector off at the same time with
the screw drivers..
To give yourself a bit more space lift the rear of the tank
& place a bit of wood/anything between tank & frame...

but it's still a pain in the a$$...

Cheers Petenz, yeah i'd lifted the back of the tank and pulled it back a little to make some space, but unless you have small hands it's a bit of a challenge.

Nice bike BTW, is that ser up for pure off road use?

It might be worth trying this:

Remove power supply to fuel pump (ie connector next to fuel line from pump)

Hit the starter. Engine might fire but won't run for long.

Switch off, and try to disconnect fuel line again. Pressure will have bee reduced in the line, so disconnection should be easier.

Didn't think of that trick, cheers for that bit of advice
