o2 optimizer
Hi, Just been starring at my bike for the last 1/2 hour wondering what is the easiest way to refit the o2 sensor!
About 2 years ago I installed a PC V, DNA stage 1 and 2, Akrapovic single can and an O2 eliminator. I think I have read that the O2 eliminators do not work therefore I bought a dynojet O2 optimizer from the nec bike show last week. When I had a custom map made the guy removed the O2 sensor as it was now replaced by the O2 eliminator. My question is that now I want to use the O2 optimizer and re install the O2 sensor what is the easiest way to put the sensor back in the pipe? Remove pipe? or can I get to it by removing the bash plate (i have an adv spec bash plate). Many thanks |
You can get it in/out with the pipe in place, but it is unlikely to be easy due to the probability of the blanking plug having seized in the hole. You can't use a lot of brute force because the pipe isn't that securely attached to the bike and you're most likely to break something, plus there's not a lot of room for wielding a spanner! Best to remove the header and then you can clamp it in a vice and apply heat if necessary and you'll have plenty of room for spannering.

Might pay to give it a good soak for while with WD40 or something first before too.

Thanks guys for you quick replies. Managed to get the down pipe off and fit the O2 optimiser. Will take it for a spin at some point to see what's new?

PCV autotune
Can any1 tell me if the autotune writes / corrects the mapping when the switch is open or closed ?
