Chain & Sprocket life database part 1
Member's Chain and Sprockets life

FINAL COMMENTS ON C&S PERFORMANCE: I am on my 2nd similar kit, so I know the great quality of Tsubaki chain and Renthal sprockets they last twice as long as OEM, keep them well greasy, they'll love you long time!! :lovers[1]: :D :D |

I regularly lube the chain with a generic chain lube. The actual O.E.M units are as expected not flash in design but are quiet in operation and to date has given me no hassle. |

SPROCKETS HAVE A LOT OF LIFE LEFT IN THEM. CHAIN ONLY BEEN ADJUSTED AT SERVICING AND TYRE CHANGES. CHAIN GETS CLEANED WITH KEROSENE AND USE CHAIN WAX (NO OILER FITTED). Coped pretty well towards the end of its life seeing as they were 3000kms fully loaded, going all over Turkey(LOTS of mountains) |

DRIVE KIT MAKE / MODEL:OEM TYPICAL RIDING (TOWN/MOTORWAY/COMMUTING/OFF ROAD): All + some racing!!!! TOTAL MILEAGE OBTAINED:15k miles (front sprocket stripped all its teeth, chain jumped off once and stripped more of the rear teeth, after this the chain had a few suspect links so thought it needed a change. If the chain didnt jump off the sprockets im sure it and the rear would have lasted till around 20kmiles) FINAL COMMENTS ON C&S PERFORMANCE: Not too bad if the chain hadnt jumped off, also the front sprocket just gave up the ghost. Just ordered a new set of BandCexpress but i dont like the look of the hard anoidised rear as it looks more like a cheap auliminmum race sprocket. |
