Mini Adventure

So after posting in the Newbies lounge last week. I picked up my 2010 Tenere and rode it home 180 miles on Thursday night from South Wales to Hampshire. What a bike! I didn't even put my feet down for the whole journey. Who says the seat is uncomfortable? It handled the chappy weather including stupidly strong cross winds on the Severn bridge admirably even loaded up with full topbox, full tankbag and carrying the standard pipe/handlebars and my roll bag strapped to the seat behind me.
My first impressions where a little worrying, don't know if anyone else has noticed/suffered this but on slow speed turning the bike around in the road the front end wobbles as if it has a buckled wheel! On checking all is fine (180 miles of motorway would have told me different) but feedback would be nice.
The spec list is as follows : Leo vince pipes, power commander v, full dna filter, Oxford heated grips, Renthal bars and risers, As sump guard and lower bars, centre stand, scottoiler, front fender extender, bgster tankbag and cover and Rg tailtidy. Happy with this little lot on a 10 Ten with 9000miles on the clock:thumbsup[1]:

did you check the tyre pressure? maybe have a look at the head race bearings? or could simply be just getting used to how a new bike feels.

What tyres are you running ?

I changed my tourance's on my 2011 Z for a Tkc 80 front, k60 rear and get something similar to what your describing at low speed, really noticable when i wheel the bike out of my garage, i have just put it down to having a knobbly on the front.

It's running tourance's and yup checked the pressures too. I think it's more the latter, just getting used to a new bike.

it might be the feeling of the wide bars with narrow wheel, I came from a tiger 1050 to the ten and at low speed took me while to get use to it as the steering a so light I was putting too much in then having to correct it, to over correct etc

part worn tyres give this feel too and the 21 inch front makes this feel worse

As Maxwell says worn Tourance tyres give an awful feeling to the steering on a 660Z.
Check your Head Bearings, they are well known to have very little grease from new and are subject to water ingress.
A combination of the above make for a very unpleasant ride.

I HATED those Tourances. Get rid of them quickly.

If you're road-only, get Continental Trail Attack 2
If you're wanting some off-road in the mix as well, go for Heidenau K60s

Thanks people, I guess my Christmas list is now starting to build. Dear Santa, new tyres for the ten please!
