Italian Military Roads
 

From Susa in Italy you can pick up the Col de Finistere, Col de Assietta and the Via Maria and a whole host of other trails built for/by the military to help protect their borders during the war. We followed these almost all the way to Ventimiglia on the coast, before heading north, up through the alps via the Cime de la Bonnette etc.

Here you can see my FB album with a whole bunch of photos, mostly of XT's (from a 1977 XT500 to a 2013 XT660R, plus my blue Tenere and my friends black one) on this trip (along with a rogue KTM 690 too).
