:023: Good idea - it will almost certainly have helped.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, a clean earth is quite important, not so much for the HIDs themselves, but for all the bike's electronics. A good earth straight to the negative battery terminal will reduce conducted interference being carried through the frame.

Hi,

I managed to push through the bulb without any mods. It went in tight, though. I am still working on solution, unfortunately. If it will not work I will take it out and sell it.

You are lucky getting it right first time :)

Hi all,

After playing a while trying to find what causes the problem I think I have discovered the issue:
As Pleiades is mentioning above - clean earth, direct from the battery through a diode to maintain the current "direction"
Second, I discovered that the original coupler which goes to the bulb (I.e. the three pin connector) was making bad contact through dirty and loose cable ends.
I have cleaned every contact in the chain well WD-40ed it and now the HID system is as good as OEM fitted.
My advise: apart of the ground cable make sure you have good and clean contacts along the chain. Obviously the on-board electronics are very sensitive in terms of conductivity.

Thanks for the support, Pleiades.

Hi guys I am considering this conversion myself and am wondering how you have got on with the kit after almost 18 months? I've heard the cheap kits from eBay arent very reliable but would be great to hear it first hand.
