Hi everyone, looking forward to getting my Tenere soon!!

everybody, sorry to bother you. I'm new to the site n I've been looking over it over the past year n finally logged in as a user. Hoping to buy my Tenere in new year and try the trials in the lake district as i live in Grasmere. I've done a few lanes on my old Xl600 lm n loved it but she's an old girl now n parts are scarce, its a pity they don't make dual sport bikes like the old days but its been a joy having it, hoping to have it sold within the next few weeks so I can start saving for the Tenere. Until then I'm gonna be on XT660.com doing my homework n studying hard ready to take the spanners to the new bike. Its been difficult to find anyone to communicate with but Im glad to have come across this forum which seems to have users within not to far a distance to where I live and also to have occasional meets to get out and about n i was hoping you knew if there's anyone in the area I could get in touch with so i can make some ground. My apologies if I'm on the wrong thread for this but navigating it on the worlds crappest phone because my laptop is down just now. Hope to talk to you and others in the area and go from there if you could help. All the best everybody. Kind regards jason

Hi guys! Thanks for the welcomes! Thanks to CaptMoto too for accepting me onto the forum. Looking forward to having a good laugh n a talk about the Tenere with you all. Hi Pleiades, I noticed you have a lakes survivor tag at the bottom of your post. Can you tell me anything about it, just wondering if thus is in the uk. I'd like to get into some open class enduro riding with the tenere but don't know where to start looking. Anyway, gotta run, back to work after my quick break, money for the bike!! See ya. :woo:

How do Kieth, that's great news. I would look forward to getting out since the weathers still nice for a last few trial rides before the winter sets in, this is though if the Honda doesn't sell. I'm putting her up on ebay hopefully in the next few days to try to save through the winter months n have a tenere bought in the new year. So spent the last week with the bike in bits giving it a good clean down before selling. Taking it round to my friends on Thursday to sort an electrical issue with the electric start that came about after my tour round the west coast of Scotland. Had to kick start it all the way (no bad thing as she kicks first time) pity the tenere doesn't have a kick start really. Would be a bonus) Good to know people aren't too far away. Appreciated bud. Do you know much about lakeland survivor? All the best to you mate. Jase

Yeah, it's in the UK, based just up the A591 from you. Happens every May for four days. Camping, trails, booze and banter etc. Have a read of this, which should give you a good idea of what it's all about. Plenty of photos too.

Have a look at http://allterrainrallychallenge.co.uk/ for a start. Used to be known as the Big Bike rally Challenge. Popular amongst riders of bikes like the Tenere, which slots into the Big Bike Single Cylinder Class (over 575cc).

Also have a look at this thread. Might give you some inspiration?
