Tenere Genuine Yamaha Sidecase Stay

Hi All,

I have bought Yamaha sidecase stay for Yamaha Panniers. When it arrived i could not figure out how to install them as instructions telling you connect frame with the bike by screw but screw could not fit into the side case stay frame hole and there was no thread in the hole so I send it back as faulty asking for replacement. I have just received replacement with exactly the same problem. Does anyone using these and remember installation? i just want to confirm if I'm becoming an Idiot or these guys I order it from are just kidding me and did not even bother to replace it.

Thanks

Hi,

Not sure I can help a great deal with your question, but I did find the following PDF which may at least confirm roughly where you should be linking the frames to the bike: http://www.adventurebikerider.com/me...eUserGuide.PDF

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the frames from? What price where they?

Cheers,
Penfold

Hi,

It is manufacture fault. In the end I did cut thread myself in the frame. I have bought it from Yamabits for 110, everywhere else have it for 130 pounds. I think it was misunderstanding from their end as I was complaining about missing thread and they replace all screws but left original faulty frame. Im sure they would change it eventually but I dont have time to wait another 2 weeks for another replacement so I fixed it myself.

Thanks

That's good to hear, so they were fobbing you off first time?

Would you recommend the supplier? Thought, with postage, that the costs were not much different between dealers and them.

Your telling is a little bit unclear. My Yamaha side stay has only one hole with a thread in it. The other doesn't and does not need it. If you mean with "side case stay frame hole" the bike frame. It's not meant to be a thread in any holes for the side stays mounting holes. Just the side stay itself has in one hole a thread.
