What exhausts are they? they look like Termignoni's and they look very nice.
|
yeap termis they are...
As of the procedure, I left the front panel untouched (with that exotic faded grey color) because I needed the bike everyday... The rest was sanded, primed, fine sanded and finaly painted with a matt black with plastic preserver (i am not aware of the exact term?). The photos do look like it shines but they are not gloss....the color is exactly like the tank's but not metallic.... It is not actual dull matt cause from my experience that look needs less hands and is easily cracked or scraped.... after all those panels are thin little *******s and exposed to any danger... sorry for hijacking the thread... Thanks for the reply Stabak!
When you say front panel do you mean the fender or the headlight surround? So you sanded, primed , fined sanded then painted? Why did you fine sand after priming? Also, was the paint a special mixture of plastic preserver or did you apply a final coat of preserver? Sorry for all the questions, mate. I've never done this before and dont want to screw it up  Oh & dont worry about the copyriht infringement, I'll think of another little design :lol |
That looks really good! Well done.
I'm also thinking of going matt black with some hints of yellow, but I'm going from blue so I'm not sure if the blue will shine through... Which might look nice :) Any specific brand of spraypaint to use? I've heard Montana paints stick to anything, so I'll probably go with them, or are there other, better alternatives? Should I instead use proper car paint? or plascon :) |
does anyone actually has pictures of an Xt660 in matt black colours?
want to have some extra panels made in that colour but would be nice to see how it looks first... |
