OTR 2-1 Bashplate after 1500km...

Just wanted to share some pictures. OTR bashplate after 1500km and only one or two real bashes to the bashplate.. Even Yam original bashplate was able to take way more punishment :D

Nah.. it will take too long to get warranty claim accepted.. I will send them pictures and some much needed feedback, but will repair and reinforce it at my workplace.. Im no welder but we have some very good welders there and probably dont even need to pay them to do it :D

It is poor , but i'd have done the same , get it welded myself and do a better job !!!

That cracked weld was waiting to happen...
it was fuse welded..yer can see the crack stops when it gets to where filler rod was used... Even at the end of where the filler rod was used you can see a pull off crater... don't they have slope controls on there tig welder... fuse weld.... where the 2 sections are melted togeather with out the use of filler rod...so the weld is thiner than the metal it joins.. |
