New Tenere tragic,saying g'day.

Gday fellas. Been lurking around the Tenere forum a bit of late making up my mind whether to buy one or not. From all reports they are a good thing. So I Just picked up my Tenere in Sydney on Sunday and slabbed it the 370kms north, on the freeway to get it home and it has been in the shed since.

It ate up the miles easily and I was still keen to keep riding when I arrived home on it. A good thing considering the riding I have planned for this bike! I cant wait to get it out on the dirt where it belongs this weekend!

I also have a XR650R for the gnarlier trails and I recently sold both of my trusty NX650's to help pay for the Tenere( that was kind of sad to see the old girls go).

Anyhow, great forum and thanks to the contributors.

Cheers
Mick

Hola! I mean hello from an Aussie in Barcelona and missing his Tenner. Welcome mate and must say, arguably best colour combination of any Tenner and I am biased.
Matt.

Thanks for the welcome gang. I took the Tenere for a shakedown ride yesterday and am very happy with it. As I said earlier I also own a modified XR650R and I did notice the distinct lack of grunt in the rough going and the front end ploughing in the loose sand in comparison to the big red pig. That aside I still had a ball and love it as an all rounder. I did about 150kms of all terrains, from freeway to back roads, rough washed out tracks and even a gallop on the beach and the only time it really struggled was in the loose sand that had been chopped out by 4x4's.

A couple of pics from the day...........

I bought the Tenere to replace my poor old NX that had seen way too many hard miles.

Even after selling both NX's I am still pressed for room in the shed for the Tenere!!
