There are a couple of companys that are building small dia cartrige conversions for the older style damping rod forks ...

PS... I have a complete XTR front end... Have done a USD conversion..

Thanks Pete, yes I saw your conversion. Most impressive!

I'd be limited by weight in the bush anyhow so don't really need performance. I'm actually loving the X as an X around our tight twisty hills.

I'm most interested in the components for a swap for mainland rides (i'm in Tassie), probably on an annual basis or as easily as possible. I'm not sure that's at the headstock, maybe I just need the forks, caliper, hub/wheel etc.

Is your R front 'spare'? You swapped the clamps as well I take it? rebuilt these R forks first eh?

It,s sitting around gathering dust....
clamps/forks/wheel/axle , spacers/cailper/disc..
pretty sure you wouldn't need to change the clamps..
Rim has a flat spot..still useable , I did for almost a year..
Forks have new seals & 20 weight oil... blow the seals at the same time I
flat spoted the rim on a ditch at about 80kph....

I'm still getting my head around how much work it will be. I like your USD swap too. They may just gather dust at my place but if you want to suggest a price inc. over the ditches, send me a pm. Thanks
