How a Tenere should be

I did 10k miles on my Tenere before I took the plunge to do some mods.

So now I have the following...

DNA stage 1 and 2
Kev fuel and O2 mods
Stock pipe with cat removed and opened up

Well what can I say...it's fab..just fab. Pulls hard from low revs...sounds great but not to loud...just right.

The whole bike is so good now.

Good stuff. :023:

Bet you wish you'd done it 10K miles ago! ;)

Yes I did.

If anybody is reading this and is wondering if they should invest in the mods...don't wait just do it.

Hi Mike, does anyone tell their insurance about these great mods and if so does it effect the premium thanks Steve.

Mike101 20-04-14 20:35

Yes And it does not add that much...but nobody can tell that the exhaust has been changed....unless they take it all off the bike and cut it open.

So I just got renewal quote, I'm with Wicked Quotes.

I told them about everything except the exhaust (my weld is on the top)

My Premium went up by 20% and my excess went up by 100

It's not a big deal. Fully comprehensive with 2 years NCB for 194...

Do it.

It's like having a brand new bike.

Everyone who makes these changes says the same thing.

What effect do the mods have on fuel consumption? This is important to me.

Particularly the Kev Mod. I already have a DNA air filter but have made no changes to the airbox. I don't intend to change the exhaust as it's pretty new and I can't weld!

When I first got my Tenere I used to get 300 out of a tank all the time. Then it bedded in and I then got about 250...a big drop but I hadn't made any mods...maybe the way I was riding it?

So I then made all the mods and I still get about 250 - 280 to a tank.

I get a bit more if I use super unleaded.

Non of the mods except the exhaust are permanent...all can easily be reversed.

I went for a 2 ride on my own over Salisbury plain last night..the bike is totally different to how it is standard.

The best way to describe it is I now feel like I have an extra gear...even though I'm don't and that before the mods it felt like the back brake was on all the time just dulling things down....but of course it wasn't.

Do it..you will be happy.

Taking the cat out improves mpg.
