G'day fella's

I've been a long time stalker :pjrflash_Q2CCBE: of this forum and finally built my bike with much help from what I've read. This is what I came up with:

2013 XT660Z - 1500km to date

• Teknik springs and valving for forks and shock - no more bottoming out or diving front end when you grab the brakes
• Barrett exhaust - didn't even know I had a rev limiter till I fitted this, sounds great, not too loud and completely opens up the engine
• Pivot pegs - best mod ever, I've had them on 2 other bikes but for some reason they are perfection on the Tenere
• Stage 2 DNA filter - 2013 models comes with a foam filter so I didn't fit the stage 1 filter, can't really say I've noted any significant power gain and the filter gets dirty quick even when riding solo
• Kev's fuel mod - fitted in as insurance when I installed the new pipe, just to rich the mixture up a little
• Venture rack and enduro bag - works great as a commuter and weekend offroad bag
• High guard from OTR - I reckon it helps with the wind buffering, haven't seen any problems with the radiator being fouled
• Wind guard - made from a piece of aluminum checker plate from the Bunnings, cost $24 plus a six pack of beer, made a huge difference the the infamous Tenere wind buffering
• Heidenau K60 scout tyres - like an all terrain 4WD tyres for a bike, I'm really impressed with the grip of road in the dry, wear seems good so far but hopeless in mud, surprise surprise
• Lust Racing lowering link - 25mm
• Guard It sump guard
• Contour bars
• Acerbis Multiplo E hand guards
• SW Motech center stand

Probably going to fit:

• SW Motech crash bars - it's only a matter of time before I drop it, have come close a few times already, I'm only 80kg and 173cm, sometimes it's a handful for me when the road gets snotty
• Metal Mule radiator guard - just in case something gets flicked up

Gday mate and welcome. Your bike sounds tricked out. Just hit 38000 k on mine in 18 mths, from new. 23 of those 38 thou were on heidanau's. Ride on!

Sounds like you've been very busy in the shed - seems as though you've just about got everything covered. ;)

Any photos of your creation?

I can recommend adding an O2 controller to your "to do" list - transforms the motor's flexibility and responsiveness.

Yeah tried to load a couple of photos but it's not happenning for me, I don't seem to have the 'manage attachments' option that the FAQ talks about

Welcome Paul, if you get the photo thing sorted would love a photo of your wind guard. I tilted my screen back with the two top screws attached and the bottom of the screen pulled forward and overlapping the headlight perspex protector and cable tied. A noticeable improvement in buffeting reduction. Not perfect but way better.

You need to be a supporter to use the attachments feature. Only a rennet and there are numerous other benefits too! See the links in my signature for details.

For now, it's probably best to host your photos online (somewhere like Photobucket or Flickr). Then you can simply use the insert image button (on the post/thread toolbar) when creating your post. Just paste in the image's URL (its direct link to the place where it's hosted) into the box. Repeat for each image you want to display. The image(s) will then appear in the post.

Here you go fella's. The wind buffer is based on the design in the related thread, it's simply wedged between the 2 pieces of the upper fairing, no screws or anything but it's been solid

Paul - You've copied the URL of image from the Photobucket slide show which is "media" and ends in the file extension .html, which is why the pictures didn't appear in the above post.

You need to look at the images in your ALBUM and then click on the sprocket in the top right hand corner and select "get links" then select the "direct link" option, which will copy it to your clipboard. The insert image button needs to have an image file extension pasted into it.

Anyhow, I've fixed 'em up for you. I've left your original links, so... If you go back to the post with the piccies and click "edit", you'll be able to see what I've done to get them to work and what the differences are between the ones that do and those that don't.
