Hola Pako

I have a casa cueva in the Altiplano de Granada and have ridden around some of your area. I love the Cabo de Gata national park and the Playa de los Muertos. I haven't had a chance yet to properly explore the Tabernas Desert but might ride some of the Ruta Turstico-Cinematogrfica, see http://www.mancomunidadpueblosdelint...RutaCineEN.pdf

Welcome aboard, Pako! I love Almeria although I've never ridden there...yet.
However, hopefully one day, I'll get the opportunity, especially as my wife has given me a daily update from her iPad, throughout this winter, of the temperature in Mojacar.

Pako 07-03-14 17:35

Thank you very much for all your kind welcomes!!!

Nice photo, Tim!! May I ask you where you live in the Altiplano? I work in Almera but my hometown is in Granada and my father's family are from the area of Guadix where, as you sure know, there are many 'casas-cueva' (cave houses).

And some more photos for SimonRoma, of course!!!!

Cortijo del Fraile (Friar's Farmhouse) built in 18th century, in Cabo de Gata. This place has been location in many films, such as some Clint Eastwood's spaguetti westerns.

The Playa de los Muertos is a favourite beach for the summer months, though a bit of a walk from the road.

The cave is about 10km to the south of Castril on the side of the Castril Valley, with tracks starting right from the cave going in many directions. I now have my Tenere XT660Z there as well as the KTM 690 Enduro. Just got back from five weeks in the area, going out again in July.

I have an interest in film set sites and have visited many in Morocco around the Ouarzazate area, including The Mummy, Gladiator, The Man who would be King, Asterix, Kingdom of Heaven, and so on.

SimonRoma 13-05-14 12:01

Wow thanks, keep em coming!!!!

Pako 15-07-14 18:40

Fantastic area around Castril Valley!! I was living for a year in the village of Castril so I know it quite well. Sure you enjoy it a lot ! Though winter is so cold there!!! But really beautiful when it snows all around...
