Totally agree with Desert Racer, even on this 'little ' island the range is great...it's a true dual-sport with so much potential. Don't forget the 'free' throttle mod you can do, makes a huge difference. All these mods make an already good bike better and the doing of the mods is a good way of getting to know your bike. No one's invented the perfect one size fits all bike and at what point does perfection become bland/sanitised/sensible even! Steve

So with this on board no matter how raw and how much personality they have, I think I will not jump in without having a thorough test ride. Thank you again. Tony

Bear in mind my bike was much better after its service PRIOR to fitting the kev mods. If you are not going off road you would be much better off getting a suzuki or BMW and for long distance touring tarmac only, ANY road bike will do. I bought my Tenere as a trail bike to go down farm tracks green lanes and general fun off road. ON THE ROAD thrills usually involve high speed cornering and illegal speeds. With the Tenere I regularly scare myself at less than 30 mph off road and crashes are a lot less dangerouse (usually). There is no competition in the 600cc class anywhere near as good as an all rounder and as tough and damage resistant as the Tenere.:icon_biggrin:

That's it guys, finally plucked up the courage? My Love Hate Relationship ended this week when I decided enough is enough...... I now have a Triumph Tiger 800 XCX..... I know it is a different animal but I have done more miles this week on the Tiger than I did the whole summer on my XTR.
Thanks for all your advice over the last two years
Tony
