Had a play on one of these today.

A 1290 super Duke R huge amount of torque, very easy to ride.

Very jealous! that must be such a great bike to ride... how about the ergonomics? you're a big guy, did you feel comfortable on it?

Nice bike Kev, but that back end mud guard / registration plate holder needs much modification, too long and spoils the bike's look.

Mmm, mudguard such a stock Aussie ADR thing and I'm sure will be sorted post sale with any buyer but more important....

What's with those legs.... Hahha bumped into a magpie the other day, in a wheel chair looking for his legs back hahahahahahahahah

Thanks for the feedback and very jealous for the test ride ;)

Very nice indeed.

Does this mean you're thinking of getting one Kev?

Mudguard/plate hanger issue already resolved...

...mind you I think your back will get absolutely soaked in the wet though (looking at how short the tail is)?

Just went in for a look & within 2 min I was out the door riding one, I was not gear up but who cares I was too excited & off I went.

The bike Goes well mate, I was expecting a bit more punch from the motor low down but know that will come once the motor is run in more, it only had 23kms on the Speedo so did not really rev it past 6K RPM, it turns in very quickly compared to my 99 SMT, the suspension is not to stiff for the Ozzy roads, being 6.2 the bike fits my body shape no problems nice up write seated position. One thing that is poor is the indicator switch, stiff & poorly designed, I would also go 2 teeth up on the rear sprocket to wake the motor up low down which would make 6th gear more useable, still has the KTM chain chatter on the swinging arm which we all used to & that side stand that you can't hook out with your boot just a poor design.

I am up for a new bike this year & one of these are in my sites, if KTM announced a new 1290 or 1190 SMR/SMT for next year I would wait go that way.

The number plate is garage plate as the bike has not been registered yet only arrived at the dealers on Thursday & agree would not look like that on my bike, we can't fit the full number plate eliminators as we get fined all the time from the cops hear in Oz, so the standard plate less rubber backing would be my route.

I've a mate who has bought one had it delivered before Christmas and it's been stuck in the garage ever since with the crap UK weather but jeez cheap they ain't 15 grand for what is toy,I have a fair bit to do with Ducati and I see the same there, those that can afford it buy one but the only way to rid to the peasants who can't is to take a mighty financial kicking because it's hardly more than a 10 grand bike in the first place.
