Good luck with which ever xt your buy.

What model Vango is that ?

Typhoon 200 - it's brilliant. Shame they stopped making it a couple of years back but you can still get them on eBay. They fit in a topbox, a bit of a faff to put up single handed because of the poles but the inner pitches with the outer. They're unique in that it's a 2 man tent which actually fits 2. :)

I use it if I'm going to be based in one place for a couple of days. Otherwise when I'm touring I also have a Banshee 300 which I can pitch in 5 mins flat. Also recommended for the money, it's not quite as spacious though.

Sorry Fran,

I was just going on what Rob had inferred - saying that he'd sold an X for an R.....

I'll just have to find one to test...

javahouse 23-01-14 23:34

Absolutely certain. I owned both at same time, but the X was 2010 and the R 2006.
The R still has a wider saddle, but the X has a narrower saddle (honest - I checked at the show this year)
BUT you can be a hooligan on the R, just use Tourance EXP or Trail Attacks. It really does beg to be ridden hard. But equally it's perfectly pleasant for a tootle through Mac Forest

:hismiley: and welcome to :660:..

Could you not book a test ride on the X and the R to see how you feel on them. I have just got a 2008 XTX and coming from sport bikes aww she is comfortable. Can't wait to get some big miles done pain free HAHAHA,

There is a few off us on here around our area going to sort a ride out if you get one pop along with us will be good.

Best off look on getting your X:toothy10: or R.

Hiya Dah Dit from Goole. Just joined today and looking to see who's local? Hoping to play up around Beverley area so may see you around? Cheers, Tony

I'll be putting my GF's fence back up at her house in Walkington next weekend, but that means i'll be in the car with tools, so unfortunately won't be playing. Small world though.

Hi theres about 4 or 5 of hs in this area now including 2 people from goole sounds like we are all having a ride out once the weather improves a tad

Dah-Dit 01-02-14 09:37

Well I've done it..........

I bought an R. :) I was the winner of an X on eBay, but subsequently found out it had been sold elsewhere before the auction closed.

It must have been karma, because a day later mine appeared on the market. I was initially gutted about missing out on the X, but it was the R I had initially thought of getting.

Looking forward to doing the throttle mod, Kev's fuel Mods swapping the 'zorsts and fork springs.

First though will be the bars. Renthal Enduro High ones are the best for wider/higher grip positions aren't they?

Can't wait.

Congrats, you'll now begin to realise what a versatile and fun bike you have.
