thanks all for the warm welcome been looking round forum today a lot information to read through good work to all for the information stored on this site has already answered a few questions I had.

I've owned my 2009 XT660X for 3 years now since new purchased late in 2010 at reduced price from Yamaha due to being previous years model with big plans for mods and custom bits as id done on several bikes before. But sadly a few months after purchase my finances changed and sadly bike ended up hardly used for 18 months and then garaged and not used for 12 months i probably should have sold bike but could not bring myself to do it.

now 3 years after buying bike it sits at 11k miles with only none standard part being Continental Road Attack tyres and iridium plug bike is back on the road and finances are looking better (fingers crossed) so its time bike got the loving she deserves.

started with new chain sprocket oil+oil filter change coolant change (noticed leaking radiator cap) ordered new one from Yamaha hoping comes with 2010 date stamp as mentioned on this forum apart from that bike seems fine.

I am sure i will be visiting these forums a lot and definitely will be subscribing as soon as pay day come around again look forward to speaking to you all on here and thanks again for both help I've already received and future help when I come asking questions as I'm sure I will

It would be prudent to flush and change the brake fluid too. It will have degraded significantly during the lay up. Should be changed every two years, regardless of miles.
