Hello from London!

Hi everyone,

I don't own an XT, I don't even own a Yamaha - I'm currently riding a Fireblade. But it's time for a change and I'm looking for something that (a) fits my frame - I'm a very inflexible 6' 4" - and (b) is suitable for a bit of exploring, including less than perfect roads. I was a big fan of the Tenere in its first guise, and was pleased to see it relaunched a few years ago.

So, in a nutshell I'm looking at getting one and thought this would be a good place to find out what people are doing with theirs etc.

Hia :)

I've got a GSXR as well as my XT, i got the XT mainly as a commuter, but since buying it cannot get enough of it - you'll love 'em too i recon ;)

Welcome along :D

Welcome mate.

Thanks very much for the welcomes. I spent a lot of yesterday reading through the multitude of threads on upgrades, improvements and general tinkering and while I can't quite picture some of it without a bike in front of me, it sounds like there's plenty to get on with - which is nice.

Can't wait to get stuck into some test rides!

Welcome to this excellent forum! I too have a sports bike as well as a tourer and 2 off road bikes and I use my XTX as a scooter all year round. The XT is an excellent fun bike and I am sure you will enjoy one, I cannot comment regarding your height as I am a more "normal" size but I think that the Tenere would be excellent for your frame. Have fun!!!

Welcome aboard! I have an XTR as a second bike and I'm enjoying the experience so much that I'm thinking that an XTZ might be a good idea at some point in the future. Good luck with your plan.
