Weighing in.

Decided to change the Front and rear myself so I can do it in an emergency.

1) The User Manual is counter productive - less than useless, can't even be used for bog roll!
2) The Yamaha Tool roll doesn't provide for the removal of the front (or rear) wheel. Nor the spark plug...

> Wrestled like a rabid dog with the rear tyre before I figured out that dishwashing liquid is the solution (sorry) Used my 3 (12 inch) tyre irons that fit in the agri tool tube, I am exploring bead breaking options.

> Wrestled like the above dogs big and peeved brother to get the front wheel off until I brought the 14mm (Sump plug removal) Allen key - 60Nm my arse!

> Have decided to use a track-style mountain bike hand pump that fits into my panniers - More than easy to inflate to 40psi.

Tools needed:
22mm ring spanner to remove the rear wheel.
10mm & 12mm open spanner to loosen the chain
14mm sump plug removal tool with 19mm ring spanner to get front axle out.
12mm ring spanner to remove brake callipers
8mm Allen key to remove pinch bolts.
WD 40
Copper grease.
Rubber Mallet
Dish washing liquid / tyre grease.

A really usefully day, for me personally, and much more difficult than my old ten ere wheels.

Essential Toolkit

Thanks photographicsafaris

Got stuck, rather embarrassingly without the necessary tools to fix a flat front this past weekend. Believe me, it won't happen again. Thanks for the post.

Did you fit a center stand?

Riaan
