Brake pedal keeps bending

More than often I end up with a twisted brake pedal when I lay my bike down on the right side (Then just stop doing that, I know). Apart from the cost it is also frustrating when riding, becuse it is made strong enough to make it very difficult to bend back when on the trail. Any advice on how to avoid this???

Fit a "Snake Brake"

There is a nice picture of Stoic Bloke's one here -> http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=163255&postcount=3

or read the whole thread here -> http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...ht=snake+brake

Thanks, the thread was quite helpfull. I will try and fit a snake and at the same time cutting 1/3 off should minmize the risk.

I use snake wire for 2 seasons now, and didnt bent it since then!
Its the solution for you.

Since I have a pile of gear levers which are no use because the splines have worn, I was going to cut the end off one and weld it onto a brake pedal.

Haven't got round to it yet. I just take it off and hit it with a big hammer when it gets too bad.

This solved it for me, and has been tested on numerous occasions....

Cut the toe off, weld a small block on, drill two holes and screw a neat little KTM toe on.

Think I might just grab one of these, cut the toe off and bolt this on... Pivots and if it breaks...bolt another on!
