Your bike will be about 500g lighter, it won't pop on the overrun and you'll be 15 out of pocket, and that's about it. ;)

Goodness, I would pay money in order to HAVE popping on overrun personally hehehe!!

I love the pop and crackle I get through the Barrett's on overrun!! ;)

There are cheaper ways to block it off, see the mods section, you can use a snug fitting bolt in the airbox that does the trick.

Mine felt better with it blocked off, might have just been the annoying popping nonsense was not distracting me.

Over run on a highly tunes sports bike is cool, over run on the Ten is a waste of fuel...in my opinion of course, I actually quite liked it at first but it was nuts with an MTC single on....

If you only want to get rid of the popping and make the exhaust run a bit cooler, this cheap method will suit perfectly. If you want to uninstall the entire system to save some weight you'll also need to block off the hole between the exhausts with something like the blanking piece from OTR.

I made it myself from a 5 mm thick aluminum sheet. Removed the complete AIS, not to gain a few grams, but to create working space on the engine, e.g. for adjusting the exhaust valves.
Just drill 2 6 mm holes on the right spots in the sheet and for the shape use the original restrictor plate that comes out of your bike. It is about 30 minutes work and fairly easy to do with only hand tools.
Oh, and don't forget to also cut a gasket in the same shape as the sheet, and also remember to blind off the hole in the air filter housing. A stainless steel (no rust in my airbox), or even plastic (if you can get it) M12 bolt would do just fine to seal it off, and is easy to remove if you ever want to place the AIS back on.
