Not Many XT660Z about and now i know why!
 

Over the past few months have been looking at buying a new bike and have tried many with no problems at all, until I got around to the very rare XT660Z:gobain: no dealer has got one with in a reasonable distance and when I ask for an extended test ride which I would prefer and would be happy to pay for its a complete no no ! what is it with Yamaha Dealers:088:

Ducati............ half a day no problem
Honda............ as long as you like
BMW.............. long as you like with a full tank of petrol
Triumph ..........Half a day and ran over the road and paid to fill bike up!

They are not rare mate, they are all sold because they are brilliant.

Seems to me that all the rest are desperate to sell bikes and Yamaha aren't as they are already sold.

Why not buy used, there are bargains to be had at this time of year. I got one a few weeks back and love it. The yam dealers in my area have them in stock.

So who is your dealer? Skellerns in Worcester?

Buying one is not the problem a test ride is:wave:

Did my research and bought my Tenere without ever riding one.....wouldn't change a thing!

Alf England sometimes have them in stock, phone them and ask for Martin.

Mind you though considering how many test drives you can arrange why bother buying one ?

Surely with a little careful planning you could go everywhere you needed to on a demo bike...

Well... I changed a few things....

But I did exactly this.

Passed my test, rode my YBR125 to the dealer and swapped it for a Tenere.

yes but these are new unregestered bikes not demo bikes!

Hahah yeah I should clarify, I wouldnt change a thing as to how I purchased it, no regrets at all not taking one for a test ride. I was 100% certain it was the ONLY bike that met my requirements.

I have changed lots of things with the bike, but would have to with any of the other options I looked at and still wouldnt have been as good as the Tenere for me!

When i sold my GS i tried lots of bikes - struggled to test an XTz but eventually found a used one and tried it - loved it but bought a better one off EBay.
