And another hello from The Netherlands!

Hi all! So, now it's my turn to introduce. I am Harry, and finally i also have chosen the Tenere, 2008 model. I wonder how the downsizing will be, since i come off a KTM 950 Adventure S, which was actually quite tuned. A very nice beastie that was as, but i sold it. Next to the Tenere, which awaits its Dutch papers (probably will come today or tomorrow), there is also a 'slightly used' KTM 660 Rallye in my garage.

Motorbike history over the last 20 years has been Honda Transalp 600, Africa Twin RD04, KTM LC4 600 Super Competition, Yamaha XTZ 750 Super Tenere transformed to something nice with fully adjustable WP suspension and a tuned 4TX engine, 102 BHP measured at the wheel...
After that came a Cagiva Navigator 1000, an Africa Twin RD07 and then the 950 Adventure S, until now i found this pretty looking 660 Tenere.

Some plans with it are to mount a WP USD-fork and a matching rear schock, and to gain some power from the engine. Airfilter and exhaust are already replaced (DNA, Sebring) and Power Commander is already installed. She will stay a travelling bike, but with some extended offroad capabilities.

Well, hope to enjoy this forum very much and will keep you informed if there is any news. Have fun driving!

Welcome along Harry,

I would imagine if you can get used to less power then the Tenere is going to suit you very well, at 50hp it's never going to compete with the 950, but it's a much more relaxed bike for travelling with.

Thanks for the welcome, although i am not yet sure if i agree on the XT being more relaxed on travelling than the 950 Adventure... The 990 is certainly more nervous, but that (quite modified) 950 of mine was just sooooo smooth and relaxed at any given speed!
Until now i have to be honest to not knowing absolutely certain if i made the right choice. But on the other hand the price i payed for it was actually a laugh and it will deliver back a big profit on selling it. No worries about that anyway! :icon_joker:

G'day H, wow thats a collection of bikes. Interesting to see how you compare the XT. For me I went from a klr to the Tenere so it was a vast improvement. Mind you the KLR did everything I asked of it, but just not very quickly. Except for the seat I'm really happy with the Tenere and as for power.....it goes fast enough for this old bloke :D Enjoy.

H.
