A few xt questions.

Hi folks, new here, signed up as I'm about to buy an xt, so best to get the info on it all from those who know best.

So, a few questions if you will allow me to indulge.

Is there anything I should be looking out for when I got to buy said machine ? I'm aware of the slow speed surge issue, but is there anything in particular I should be checking for around the bike ?

It's an 04 model with very little mileage if that's any help.

I'm also interested to know about all the aribox upgrades. I've done some extensive reading on here about them all but am finding it all a bit bewildering tbh.

Stage one this, stage two that, stage three airbox., snorkels here and there. I'm after the simplest and cheapest form of sorting out the air nin laymans terms dfor the dummy (me).

Cheers folks. :icon_burnout[1]:

Our experts will be along soon to help you mate. But like any used machine the main concern is how the bike has been kept, maintained and treated, and for instance any service history is always very useful. What mileage is the bike and how much are they asking?? Private or dealer?? Any warranty?? Over to you and good luck, Simon

Hi, just looking at your questions and they are similar to what I had a couple of days ago when i picked up the xt660x

I've slotted in a new K&N air filter and bought a Nitro X off eBay for 39 it has worked a dream. The Tango Kangaroo has been tamed! Took 30 minutes from start to finish.

I searched through the site and there is some amazing info but I thought why not give it a try!

I'm running stock cans on a 57 plate with 8880 miles on.

Hope this helps a bit.

Still waiting on all these experts coming along with a few answers :notworthy[1]:

Price seems ok if the bike is in good nick and the mileage is genuine. To be honest you can find all of the answers you need on here, but before you start you need to know what your bike has ie is it standard or has the owner already made some mods. Then from there things are fairly simple and you can go step by step depending on how much dosh you wanna spend on it and how talented you are with the spanners, but the air filter and exhaust mods are really dead easy, even I managed!!!!
