Bluetooth Headsets
 

Hi all

I have been using a Sena SMH5 lately to listen to music, sat nav and using the phone(is this illegal?) I know a friend of mine got a Bluetronic. We are going on a long trip soon and it would be nice to to be able to talk to each other. But, will they link being of different makes? Anybody tried?
By the way, we can't try it out, we are in different countries right now.

I'm afraid that won't work. The different brands all use their own proprietary protocol for intercom.
So far I have not found any brands that allow linking with other brands. It sucks for the consumer but all manufacturers are pretty protectionist about the whole thing.

Ah well. I don't think the manufacturers are doing themselves a favour here. Great way to discourage people from buying a decent piece of kit. The cheaper ones work just fine. Why pay more for a better piece if you got nobody to talk to?

Looks good, but I am the only one with an Android phone. See what's happening in the future. Maybe the others grow up and get decent phones one day.
