Hiya and welcome to this wonderful site!!! I am sure you will get some suggestions soon, but which model have you bought, XT660X or R or Tenere??? I have the original Yamaha/Acerbis hand guards and also the original Yamaha aluminium bash plate on my X. I have just bought some Givi engine bars but I have not fitted them yet as I wish to mount some extra lights too. Have fun with your new bike!!!

my apologies. its the 2013 matt black grey Tenere. almost hitting my first 100km and its surea good ride... although i must get used to the height as I'm only 1.70m

Welcome, hope you enjoy the site.

I used the SW Motech centerstand and it went on easily and quickly.

I also went with the Aussie brand-Barkbusters for handguards. Very sturdy and well made. All the parts fit easily. I'd recommend the optional bar end weights, as the big thumper brings alot of vibes to the handlebars.

Which brand of crashbar/enginebar preferred? - None, the Tenere crashes pretty well in stock trim - save on the extra weight.

Handguard? - Barkbusters

Mainstand? - Yamaha
