Rear brake master cylinder kit
Gday.
I'm just putting the rear brake master cylinder rebuild kit in and have come across a hitch. I have inserted the new piston with spring and seals, no trouble there. The trouble is the new circlip which sits between the washer and the rubber dust boot on the rod component attached to the foot brake leaver which pushes the piston up. In the manual it is on page 4-34 under rear brake and is designated as a new component which it is. When l insert the rod component and washer into the bottom of the brake master cylinder and insert the circlip there is zero movement left. The piston inside cannot move any further up. I have opened the bleed valve on the rear brake to alleviate any presure. Any one done this job on their Tenere? All info greatly appreciated. The only thing l can think of is that the manual is wrong and the circlip goes above the washer.... dunno. Thanks fellas. Rod. Western Aust. |
FIXED.....
Was being too delicate and just needed to push the piston in a little bit harder. Now how do l delete this thread? |
