Hi All,

heading to Norway in June. Here for something different. What not to do in Norway. The web is full of the good stuff but what shall we avoid at all cost?

I'd avoid the "big" cities like Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, etc, as well as the main roads like E6 and E16 as much as you can. Most of the sights (IMO) is in the western part.

I dunno... I live here and can't really imaging why anyone would come :p

Oh, and don't forget your wallet! You'll need it!

..dont rush its truly beutiful
dont book accomadation ahead ..it takes time to travel through

dont go fast into tunnels ..they are very very dark and poorly lit and you will be blind for a few seconds ..they can also be wet as the water drips fromthe ceilings

if you lie a little drink take a 1.5litre spirit with you in a pepsie bottle

do try and take in the balastrand road and trollisgen pass geringer fjord you can follow a track by the flam railway and its alovly afternoon out

do have agreat time

I recommend northern norway, from the arctic circle and north. More dramatic nature, and great mc roads. Jump on Hurtigruten from the south and a bit northwards....

All good and useful to know. Keep them coming.
What's the best way to get there from the UK? Don't really fancy a long trek along the north sea flats. That's not what the Ten is designed for. Ferry? They offer cabins with sea view?!? I somehow expected that.

Watch your speed at ALL times and they have a zero drink drive attitude.

Beer is as expensive as petrol and petrol is as expensive as cologne and you guessed it cologne is dam expensive.

Slow down as the scenery is jaw droppingly beautiful.

Enjoy and bring back some pikkies!
